A head-on collision between a bus and a tuk-tuk on Friday night near the Boya area on the Ahero-Awasi road, Kisumu County, resulted in the deaths of four people.

According to Allan Mwangi, the Nyanza Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer, the bus headed towards Nairobi attempted to pass a truck before running into the tuk-tuk approaching from the other side.

The impact caused the tricycle to become stuck beneath the bus and drag the occupants on the highway for roughly 60 meters.

Mwangi claims that while everyone inside the bus escaped unharmed, the three passengers and the driver perished instantly.

When police arrived on the scene, they were able to extricate the bodies from the debris and transport them to the mortuary of the Ahero Sub-County Hospital for a postmortem.
