Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nairobi are actively investigating the death of a 19-year-old girl who tragically fell from the 10th floor of an apartment in Thome estate, Kasarani area. The focus of their inquiry includes three individuals who were in contact with the deceased girl and her partner. The partner, found unconscious with stab wounds, was discovered inside a short-stay house he had rented.
Exclusive CCTV footage obtained by Citizen TV unveils the last moments of the couple as they checked into the apartment at around 3 am on Saturday after a night of revelry. The footage captures Lawrence Gitonga leaving the lift on the 10th floor, hand in hand with the 19-year-old girl. Notably, the girl was later discovered dead, wearing only a t-shirt.
He heads in the wrong direction before turning back and heading straight to the short-stay apartment.

He goes for the house keys and comes back to open. This whole time, the girl is waiting outside the door.
Gitonga manages to open and the girl is seen entering the house first before he follows.
This marked the final sighting of the girl, seen alive as she entered the apartment wearing only a red T-shirt. Hours later, her lifeless body was discovered outside the apartment.
In an unexpected twist, the man she had checked in with was found unconscious inside the temporary stay apartment, bearing eight stab wounds on the chest and back. The scene indicated a grim struggle, with blood splattered on the sitting room floor and bathroom walls, suggesting either a conflict between two individuals or a desperate fight for survival.
Initial investigations suggest the possibility that the girl may have either jumped or been pushed from the balcony of the house.
Insiders with knowledge of the investigation have informed Citizen TV that authorities are actively seeking three individuals who had contact with the couple before the tragic incident, aiming to aid in the ongoing investigations.
The police are expected to visit a club in the Roysambu area, where it is believed that the couple met on Friday night before driving to Thome for additional drinks.
Detectives are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage and closely monitoring the last known movements of the individuals to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the murder.
Gitonga, found unconscious inside the house and rushed to Uhai Neema Hospital, is presently under police guard as he is treated as the primary suspect in the case.
The lifeless body of the 19-year-old girl is currently at City Mortuary. Authorities are in the process of locating her family to inform them before scheduling a post-mortem examination, expected to take place later this week.
