Police officers in Kiambu County have arrested three suspects and seized 6,000 liters of ethanol from an unregistered distiller.
Kiambu Police Commander Mohammed Badell stated that after getting information from a civilian, the police investigated the illegal distiller and impounded the alcohol.
A Githunguri court has also granted the police permission to destroy any illicit brew used as evidence in court. During this period, illegal brews such as Chagaga, Kangara, Muratina, and three gambling machines were burned and destroyed.
On Wednesday, the government issued new guidelines restricting drug and alcohol sales in the country, characterizing drug and alcohol abuse as a national security danger.
