In Budaywa Sub-location, Vihiga County, a family of two men who were lynched by a mob on suspicion of stealing chickens is demanding justice and the arrest of those responsible.

The family insists that before their relatives were lynched in the Ikolomani area of Kakamega County, they were driven from their homes during the night.

Wilson Kivuya remembers that his son Victor Mazigulu died in a horrific scene that appeared to be a neighbor knocking on the door. The deceased was accused of stealing chicken by three individuals who picked him up on Saturday night.

Edgar Ajega, Kivuya's brother, wants the criminals charged for assuming legal responsibility even though they did not have the allegedly stolen chicken when the murder occurred. Mike Kalogoni, his son, died in the accident.

The family claims that the two men's killers are well-known and ought to be shunned by society.

"Our customs prohibit sharing water shops with people who kill one's relatives. Elders must take up this issue to avoid future harm," Gilbert Isindu said while Javan Milembe pleaded with authorities to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
