Ababu Namwamba, Cabinet Secretary for Sports, is impressed with the quick progress being made on the Talanta Sports City project.
During his inspection of the ongoing construction on Thursday morning, Namwamba gave a speech in which he expressed confidence that the stadium would be completed by December 2025, in time for CAF inspections.
As Kenya gets ready to co-host the AFCON '27 football extravaganza with Uganda and Tanzania, the Talanta Sports City is a crucial component of the country's infrastructure development program.
"Looking at the pace of work going on here, no doubt that we are well within our timelines. I'm very confident that Talanta Sports City is well on track for our December 2025 target to test it ahead of AFCON 2027," he observed.

The project is moving forward step by step to guarantee that every component is built precisely and on schedule. The CS emphasized that frequent high-level inspections will be conducted to oversee progress as part of the government's commitment to sticking to the scheduled construction.
