During a visit to Narok County, President William Ruto urged all Narok County officials to resolve their differences amicably to help eradicate the region's deep-rooted insecurity.
Speaking during a church service in Kilgoris, Ruto stated that the community will play a critical part in putting a stop to banditry because efforts by the Interior Ministry and security forces are insufficient to silence the firearms.
"There are things that can be solved at the community level so that people live in harmony. I urge the clergy, all leaders, the county government to work together," he noted.

"My government will partner with you to solve the vice so that Narok goes forward in peace and so that everyone focuses on development without people losing their lives."
The Head of Government said that officers would be deployed to help maintain calm in the county and that Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki will shortly meet with county authorities to discuss a path ahead.
This comes amid rising insecurity in the county and its outskirts, as several residents have been killed in banditry attacks.
