Frida Mokaya Boyani has been named Chief Registrar of the Judiciary by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) .
Mokaya was selected from among seven applicants who had been shortlisted for the position that became available after Anne Amadi's retirement on January 12, 2024.
Forty-three individuals applied for the posted job, and the seven shortlisted candidates met with the JSC interview panel.

Mokaya formerly held the role of JSC Registrar, which she assumed in 2012 after serving as a Senior Principal Magistrate. She has over 27 years of expertise in the legal field.
Macharia Rose Wachuka, Ouma Jack Busalile Mwimali, Wambeti Anne Ireri, Ndemo Paul Maina, Kendagor Caroline Jepyegen, and Kandet Kennedy Lenkamai were also among those selected for the role.
As Chief Registrar, Mokaya's responsibilities include administering the Judiciary Fund and preparing spending estimates.
