The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has announced the appointment of Patience Nyange as its new spokesperson.
In a statement on X on Tuesday, IGAD stated that Nyange will serve under the office of Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu.

Further, IGAD said it had tapped into Nyange’s expertise in communication to boost its voice worldwide.
Speaking from her Djibouti office, Nyange described it as “an honour and privilege to serve at IGAD. I will represent my country well.”
Before joining IGAD, Nyange worked as the Executive Director of the Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK).
