According to severe plans, the main GK Prison in Kisii will soon be moved from the Town Center.

The government's action is intended to make growing the densely populated town easier.

The prison will be moved to a different location outside of Kisii Town.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki declared, "The Government will relocate the Kisii Prison from the Town Center to an alternative site outside Kisii Town to allow proper urban planning to accommodate other strategic National and County Government projects suitable for location at the Town Center."

Along with the Kisii County Security Heads, the CS visited the prison on Monday morning to evaluate the status of the relocation process.

In the meantime, on April 2–4, 2024, Nairobi, Kenya, will host the first National Border Management Conference with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The conference will give interested parties a forum to work on improving Coordinated Border Management. It will assist in carrying out the five-year strategic plan of the Border Control and Operations Coordination Committee.

The Ministry of Interior said this milestone event represented a significant advancement in its efforts to improve coordinated border management and promote agency integration under the Border Control and Operations Coordination Committee (BCOCC).

The Ministry has already implemented the updated Kenya Coordinated Border Management Program (KCBMP) to improve the efficiency and security of Kenya's ports of entry.

The program aims to address the changing demands of border security while offering front-line officers a hands-on, practical approach to strengthening their skills.
