Two people have died after the vehicles they were in were involved in a head-on collision at Rakwaro on the Rongo-Awendo route in Migori County.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle carrying the now-deceased and two injured was traveling from Awendo to Rongo General when it crashed head-on with another vehicle traveling in the other way.
According to a police report from the Thursday evening collision, the car's driver heading towards Rongo General attempted to overtake a motorbike when it collided with an approaching vehicle.
According to police, two ladies died on the scene, while two other passengers in the same ill-fated car suffered significant injuries.

The two wounded were brought to Rongo Sub-county Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Migori Referral Hospital.
The bodies have been taken to Rosewood as police investigate.
