Police officers have detained a trailer containing suspected ethanol after it was involved in an accident.

According to a police report, the accident happened along Eastern Bypass near Vogue restaurant when a car driving from Embakasi attempted to do a U-turn at the accident scene. The trailer disconnected from the truck and crashed on it.

According to the report, "Due to the impact of the accident, the motor vehicle was extensively damaged, as the occupants sustained slight injuries and were rushed to the hospital for check-up." The two automobiles were hauled to the police station yard for examination.

According to the news source, "The trailer owned by Raphaim agencies was transporting suspected ethanol allegedly from ICD to Tatu City Vision Enterprise Limited godowns for storage on behalf of flight forwarder solutions."

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have taken over the inquiry. They are investigating the origin of the ethanol and whether it was carried lawfully.
