More than 700 liters of kangara, 65 liters of Changaa, and 37 cartons of second-generation liquor were impounded and destroyed in a crackdown against illicit brew in Nairok County.
According to Narok County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia, drugs were intercepted in Narok town and its environs last week.
Further, he said one notorious brewer was arrested within the town with 15 cartons of second-generation liquor.
Lotiatia warned the public that the war against illicit brewing would continue, and those in the illegal business were warned to turn to other productive businesses.
“We are engaging all the National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO), the police, religious leaders, maasai council of elders and village elders to fight illegal brewing. We are positive that we will eradicate all illegal dens in the county."

He reiterated that in a week, they had arrested over 30 people, who had been arraigned and charged in court.
“I urge the members of the public to give information that will lead to the arrest of all people carrying out the illegal business,” Lotiatia.
Lotiatia underscored that the confiscated drinks will be kept in police custody while their samples are taken to a government chemist to ascertain their quality.
