The Kenya Red Cross team has finally rescued passengers who spent the night in the cold after being caught in flood waters near Tulla village in Tana River County.
"All passengers aboard the bus have now been rescued, with priority initially given to women, children, and those who are sick," the Red Cross stated in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Kenya Red Cross is attempting to rescue additional travelers stuck at Arer, near Tulla Bridge in Tana River County, after flood waters cut off the route.

Early Tuesday morning, a bus going from Wajir to Nairobi was carried away by floodwaters in the Tula region, stranding its passengers.
The travelers spent the night in the floodwaters, awaiting rescue.
