President William Ruto warned bandits in Laikipia County that their days are numbered.
During the formal introduction of the human-wildlife conflict prevention and compensation system at Rumuruti Stadium in Laikipia, Ruto revealed intentions to purchase enhanced security equipment to combat the county's bandit threat.
He also added that the government has earmarked Ksh.25 billion to purchase new weapons and deploy an additional 250 National Police Reservists (NPRs) to improve security.

The NPRs that will be deployed will supplement the region's present 360-person security force.
"Tumeweka mpango ya kununua equipments ya kutosha," Ruto informed the crowd.
"Hatutakubali watu wachache watukoseshe usalama," he added.
The president reiterated a comprehensive strategy for resolving any outstanding issues.
"I want to assure you that in every corner there will be security," he said.
The President also oversaw opening the Lariak Forest Wildlife electric fence in Laikipia County.
The government announced the countrywide fencing of the country's forests and animal habitats and Ksh.3 billion in compensation for victims of human-wildlife conflict.
