In the Kipsarwet neighborhood of Bomet East, there has been a traffic accident involving the car of Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok.

A boda boda rider with a pillion passengers and Barchok's official vehicle were involved in the collision.

According to a statement, the governor and the boda boda rider both made an unhurried escape.

According to the statement, the pillion passenger had minor soft tissue injuries and is currently receiving care at Longisa County Referral Hospital.

Expressing his deep concern, Governor Barchok earnestly wished for a swift recovery for the patient.


Reflecting on this incident, Barchok strongly urges all road users to diligently observe traffic rules, and exercise responsibility and caution at all times to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.

The incident was confirmed by Bomet Central Police Commander Musa Omar Imamai, who stated that the pillion passenger on the boda boda sustained injuries and was taken to Longisa County Referral Hospital for medical attention.

The accident happened as Governor Prof. Barchok was leaving for his Bomet office.

According to data from the National Transport and Safety Authority, approximately 1,214 people died in traffic accidents during the previous three months.
