After a heated altercation inside their home in Houston, Texas, 26-year-old Nigerian Michael Chidozie was shot four times by his wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae, who is two years his senior. Tragically, Chidozie later succumbed to complications stemming from a spinal injury caused by the shooting. Shavoiyae asserted that she acted in self-defense during the incident, which occurred in front of their two children.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Chidozie's wife in a panic, holding their two children, aged two and three, as he lay with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital, where he remained on life support for eighteen days, as reported by Daily Mail, before tragically succumbing to complications arising from a spinal injury.

Shavoiyae faces charges of aggravated assault following the incident, but since Chidozie's passing, the charge has not been elevated to murder.

She maintains that she acted in self-defense out of fear for her life after Chidozie followed her into their bedroom during an argument.

According to police reports, the altercation began elsewhere in the house, prompting Shavoiyae to retreat to the bedroom, where she retrieved a pistol and shot Chidozie.

The report did not specify whether the wife of the Nigerian bodybuilder had experienced physical abuse to the extent that she felt compelled to shoot him in self-defense.
