United Democratic Alliance (UDA) officials in Nyanza have suspended their ongoing campaigns following the tragic passing of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Francis Ogolla.
Homa Bay UDA interim chairman Kennedy Obuya expressed this decision as a gesture of respect towards Ogolla and to allow the community time to mourn.
Further, he stated that they are contacting the UDA's national office, specifically the National Elections Board, to discuss postponing the party's upcoming elections this month.
Kennedy Ondiek, UDA's coordinator for South Nyanza, acknowledged the somber atmosphere cast by Ogolla's loss and that of other servicemen.
He urged for calm as the government conducts investigations into the circumstances surrounding the CDF's passing.
