One person has died, and three others were left nursing injuries after a perimeter wall collapsed in Ruaka, Kiambu County.
Tenants in the rental house have been advised to stay away from their homes following the disaster caused by heavy rains.
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi issued an order instructing all tenants on the affected plot to vacate until the department could give an occupational certificate confirming the building's safety.

Wamatangi stated that a multi-agency team will examine the situation to ensure citizens' safety.
“No one will live in these houses until we complete investigations and approve that the houses are safe for people to live in them. We have given you two hours to take important items your houses. We will then seal the houses,” Wamatangi said.
The continuous rains have had a wide-ranging impact in Kenya, with massive floods wreaking havoc in Nairobi and adjacent Kiambu and Machakos counties.
