Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Issack Hassan is among forty-one candidates short-listed for Court of Appeal Judges by the Judiciary Service Commission(JSC).

In a notice, Justice Grace Nzioka, who recently delivered a death sentence to Joseph Irungu alias Jowie in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, has also been shortlisted.

” The JSC having reviewed the applications for completeness and conformity with the requirements as set out in the advertisement, shortlisted forty one (41) candidates.”

In the notice, the JSC indicated that Justices Alfred Mabeya, David SIfuna, Chaha Mwita, and Hedwig Ong’undi are also on the shortlist.

Interviews will occur at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Pension Towers from June 3 to 20.

Eleven vacancies are set to be filled.

The commission invited applications for the positions of 11 Court of Appeal judges on February 2, following consensus after a Heads of Arms Summit in January.
