During the official launch of the Bunge Towers, President William Ruto said that he expects MPs to provide a "world-class" performance.
The head of state stated that there would be no excuses for providing mediocre services now that lawmakers have been given appropriate facilities to do their job.
"Because you now have world-class facilities we expect world-class legislation and oversight," said Ruto.

"Parliament has no choice but to rise to the new era inaugurated by the opening of Bunge Tower and deliver rigorous, effective, and representative legislation."
President Ruto acknowledged the nation's achievement in erecting the 28-story skyscraper and highlighted how different leaders behaved when he first entered politics (1997), when leaders did not even have offices to work from.
"There was no office for any MP here and we became the first occupants after two years under the leadership of Speaker Ole Kaparo to occupy Continental House," Ruto narrated.
"It had many challenges but it was a great improvement from working from our private offices or from the parking lot in our cars."
He hoped MPs would perform well, saying that the tools available should help them pass outstanding legislation.
He also pledged his support to parliament in its responsibilities to the Kenyan people.
On the other hand, Ruto cautioned that the facility should not allow grandiosity or waste of public money, urging careful leadership and accountability from MPs.
"This building is not a monument to extravagance in the service of vanity. It is not intended to symbolise entitlement or impunity in the sense of the ability of legislators to appropriate and expend public resources without accountability," said Ruto.
