As the Doctors' strike nears its sixtieth day, the situation grows increasingly dire for the country. Despite the government's efforts to negotiate with the leadership of the KMPDU, no agreement has been reached. The KMPDU remains steadfast in their refusal to end the strike until their concerns are addressed. Both parties maintain firm positions, contributing to the ongoing impasse.

SG Atella stated that they were prepared to end the strike on Friday but reversed their decision upon discovering that the document they received was the same one they had been advocating against for the past two months.

He mentions that the county governments are hesitant to provide written commitments regarding the payment schedule for doctors. Allegedly, they are solely focused on imposing their terms without room for negotiation. The KMPDU expresses their reluctance to engage in such tactics. The national government has assured them that funds will be disbursed to the counties by July 1st.
