Four traffic police officers were arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission detectives (EACC) for extorting motorists on the Embu-Siakago Road.

The four police officers assigned to Embu's Itabua Police Station were transported to the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station for processing.

They were later booked at the Kilimani Police Station and are currently detained for arraignment in court.

The policemen are Police Inspector Sammy Cherogony, Corporal Maurice Mwakachora, Constables Fozia Hallake, and Adan Mohamed Iman.

A source from the EACC said, "All four had been under surveillance by EACC officers for some time before they were apprehended today."
