Police have arrested a 23-year-old man who is alleged to have killed his son following a marital dispute with his 35-year-old wife in Kangoya village In Kiambu County.
Evans Kimande is reported to have strangled the one-year-old child to death at their home.
Confirming the incident, Kiambu Police Commander Mohamed Badel said the matter was reported by the area's Nyumba Kumi village elder, who alerted the police.
The man is reported to have waited for the woman to leave the house for work before committing the act.
The man is set to be presented in court.

This comes after police in Lungalunga arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly strangling his 85-year-old grandmother to death in Kwale County.
Confirming the incident, Kwale County Police Commander Stephen Ng'etich stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the elderly woman had received Kes 350,000 in royalties from Australia-based mining firm Base Titanium prior to her demise.
Further, he said that officers discovered the cash and the suspect were missing upon arrival at the scene.
When police combed Mwaratuswa village searching for the suspect, they found him imbibing drinks at a local joint.
Upon inspection, the suspect was found with Kes 270,000, which he had failed to account for.
He was consequently apprehended and remains in custody pending arraignment.
