The Ministry of Education has released the revised Half-Term dates for Term Two to compensate for the learning period lost when schools were forced to remain closed due to floods.
According to the revisions announced by Education Principal Secretary Dr Belio Kipsang on Wednesday, pre-primary, primary, and secondary school students will take a half-term holiday from June 26th to 28th, 2024.
The first half-term date was chosen for June 20th–23rd, 2024.

“The change may require adjustments on planned activities and schedules. You are therefore directed to communicate the content of this circular to all Head Teachers and Principals of schools under your jurisdiction,” said Dr Kipsang in a circular to all County Directors of Education.
Schools were initially scheduled to resume on April 29, 2024. Still, due to severe rains, the date was pushed back to May 6th and May 13th when weather projections indicated favorable circumstances for school resumption.
