Machakos High Court has released Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Gabriel Kagombe on a Kes 1 million cash bail after pleading not guilty to murder charges.
Judge Francis Olel also slapped Kagombe with an alternative bond of Kes 2 million and a surety of a similar amount.
In the case, Kagombe was charged with fatally shooting boda boda rider David Nduati Wataha on May 17, 2024, at around 4:30pm at Kimuchu area in Makongeni, Thika.
Kagombe underwent a mental assessment test on Wednesday as ordered during the Monday hearing.
Justice Olel set the case for mentioning on July 17, 2024.
