Further fallout for Diddy following the release of the Cassie beating video is that he no longer holds a significant award from a renowned HBCU he previously attended.

Due to the recent release of a video that depicts Diddy's 2016 assault on his then-girlfriend inside an L.A. hotel, Howard University announced on Friday that its Board of Trustees is rescinding Diddy's honorary degree.

The university says Diddy's actions are "so fundamentally incompatible with Howard University's core values and beliefs that he is no longer worthy to hold the institution's highest honor." Diddy received an honorary degree from Howard in 2014.

According to Howard, the university is removing Diddy's name from records listing him among the recipients of honorary degrees.

In addition, the university is ending a scholarship program named after him, returning a $1 million donation from him, and breaking off a 2023 pledge agreement with his foundation.

As we previously reported, last month, a video was made public that showed Diddy severely beating Cassie in a hotel hallway. The footage of the 2016 incident was never seen before, but it was described in detail in her explosive lawsuit against him. He expressed regret for it.
