Residents of Nyandiwa village, Alego/Usonga, Siaya County, are still in shock after the body of a 60-year-old woman was found floating in a river.
According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, members of the public discovered the corpse of Pamela Atieno Omunya while fetching water from the river.
According to the police chief, the deceased was last seen by her sister Irene Adhiambo, with whom she had supper on Monday night before sleeping at her house in Osumba village, a nearby sub-location known as Randago.

The woman's relatives were stunned when her corpse was discovered floating on a water pan a few miles from her house.
The body of the deceased has been transported to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem to determine the cause of death.
