Ambassador Daniel Koikai, the father of the late Mary Njambi Koikai, penned a touching tribute to his daughter. In his heartfelt message, he reflected on their strained relationship and admitted his shortcomings as a father.

Daniel recounted the difficult times, including his life abroad and only meeting her four months after her birth. He also shared the poignant detail of his daughter's last text message.

"Hi dad hope you have reached home safely. I’d kindly need the orange juice red berry from Del Monte and some fresh orange and tree tomato juice. The doctors are here so I will have to go and will speak tomorrow. It was great to see you and reconnect," texted Njambi.

"The time has come for me to atone for my acts of omission or commission on your final journey from this world. It has been one of the most difficult episodes in my life, especially for your close family. Your mum, your sisters, aunts, uncles, colleagues in the media and friends in and out of the country."

The dad also shared an excerpt from their chats after visiting her at the hospital right before her demise. It read:

The MC's father expressed that he had hoped they would reconnect and that he could atone for his absence during her battle with endometriosis.
