Social activist Hanifa Adan sends millions to the families of deceased protesters and pays the medical bills of injured victims. Hanifa Adan initiated a movement on the X app to support victims of the ongoing anti-finance bill protests has finally borne fruit. Following a successful fundraiser, the social activist fulfilled her promise to cover the funeral expenses for the families of Rex and Evans.


Updating her followers on X on Friday morning, Hanifa Adan shared screenshots of the transactions, showing that the families of both Rex Kanyike and Evans Kiratu each received 1 million shillings.

The two men succumbed to injuries sustained during the Thursday "Occupy Parliament" protests. Rex was shot and killed by the police as the protests continued into the night, while Evans was hit by a teargas canister a few days later.

On her statement on her X account, she wrote "Hello guys. Remember Rex and Evan’s? The first victims of this cruel regime. We have sent one million each to their families that’s their mum. The remaining will be sent to the family of Ian, who was shot three times on the back and won’t be able to walk again. I feel so relieved that they got this. Thank you so much, guys."
