Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has addressed the Gen Z Tuesday and Thursday protests that have been going on across the country.
During these protests, young people stormed Parliament while the controversial Finance Bill 2024 was being passed. The bill has since been withdrawn.

Speaking in Tana River, the CS acknowledged the importance of young people voicing critical concerns about the state of affairs.
“I have to say that we appreciate our young people when they raise critical concerns on the affairs of the State,” he said, referring to the Gen Z protests.
However CS Duale did express a strong caution. He said that some people, with whom he has collaborated in both the previous and present administrations, may be thinking of influencing these protests by bringing in the banned group Mungiki.
“We shall not allow criminal gangs like Mungiki to reassemble and those leaders who think they can destabilise President William Ruto’s government should wait until the next elections,” said Duale.
