Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia X will unveil its first African network with a directed flight between Nairobi and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, starting November 15, 2024.

According to AirAsia X Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Benyamin Ismail, the airline will fly four times a week to Nairobi and vice versa.

Further, he said a single one-way ticket will cost about Kes 19,000 for an economy seat.

“We anticipate carrying over 156,000 travellers annually on this route, strengthening ties and boosting tourism between Kenya and Malaysia. This route also offers excellent connectivity for Kenyans to explore our key markets like Australia, China, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand more affordably with a convenient stopover in Kuala Lumpur.”

“Both Kenya and Malaysia are vibrant nations, home to millions and a rich tapestry of heritages and sceneries. We look forward to enriching cultural and economic exchanges between these dynamic regions.”
