Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has asserted that President William Ruto can only be removed from office through an election. In an interview on JFK Live on Citizen TV, Kuria emphasized, "Ruto didn't just come into office; he was elected. There will be another election." He stressed that the democratic process is the only legitimate way for Gen Zs to leverage their numbers and make their voices heard at the ballot box.

"People are saying Ruto must go, but remember, he was elected, and another election is on the horizon. The only way to remove Ruto is through voting," Kuria stated.

The next elections in Kenya are scheduled for 2027. Kuria expressed his concerns about the dangers of coups and violence, which have troubled some African countries, and dismissed such actions as extreme and irresponsible. He urged the public to exercise their democratic rights instead, saying, "Considering the other side might seem appealing, but it's no laughing matter."

Gen Z protesters have been vocal, both on the streets and on social media, with the slogan "Ruto must go" among their demands. Despite some of these demands being addressed, the call for Ruto to step down persists.

Kuria, on July 3, also declared his readiness to face the consequences if the current Cabinet is dissolved. This came in response to Senators' calls for President Ruto to dissolve the Cabinet to address national challenges. Kuria stated, "If it is decided that Moses Kuria has to go home, I will be the first to agree. However, it's also crucial that we deliver on our promises."
