Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has faced a backlash following remarks she made in her county about the ongoing Gen Z protests. Legendary musician Wahu Kagwi criticized Wanga's statement claiming it's a big shame linking her statement to tribal politics.

The governor is on record urging people from the Nyanza region, particularly the Luo community, to stay away from the Gen Z protests. Wanga emphasized that the Luo community has been fighting for Kenya for a long time, and it is now time for them to sit back and relax.

GenZs and millennials have strongly opposed these words. Musician Wahu launched a scathing attack on Governor Wanga, accusing her of promoting tribal politics. Wahu stated that such rhetoric provides politicians with the opportunity to oppress Kenyans, adding that it is a great shame for a leader to make such remarks. She emphasized that GenZ is leaderless and tribeless.
