Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has hailed Generation Z as powerful agents of change, likening their impact to the sting of bees. Following President William Ruto’s decision to dismiss his entire Cabinet, Kibwana described the youth as "worthy heirs" of the late freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi. He expressed optimism that they will lead Kenya into a new era where the people and the Constitution hold ultimate authority.
"New Kenya, nothing less! A land where the citizens and the Constitution are sovereign under God. Gen Zees, you sting like bees. You are worthy heirs of Dedan Kimathi, whom you will honor with dignity. Thank you. We can smell the Third (Economic) Liberation and Ubuntu," Kibwana stated.
President Ruto's dismissal of his Cabinet came after weeks of demonstrations against the 'punitive' Finance Bill 2024, which he ultimately rejected, recommending the deletion of all its clauses. Last week, he announced austerity measures and on Thursday, dissolved his entire Cabinet, sparing only Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
In response to calls from Kenyan youths to end the wastage of public resources and corruption, Ruto declared that until a new Cabinet is appointed, Principal Secretaries will coordinate the affairs of the Ministries.

"I have decided to dismiss with immediate effect all cabinet secretaries and the attorney general of the Cabinet of Kenya, except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs," Ruto announced. "The office of the Deputy President is not affected in any way."
The President added that the new Cabinet will be named after extensive consultations across all sectors.
