The national police service has issued an apology to veteran journalist Macharia Gaitho after he was violently abducted a few hours ago while in the company of his son.
According to the police service, it was a case of mistaken identity meant to arrest Francis Gaitho, the suspect in their investigation. They reiterate that as a Service, they do not target journalists in any way, and today's incident is highly regrettable.
