Late last year, Oprah Winfrey surprised her fans by admitting to taking weight-loss drugs after previously stating she wouldn't use medications like Ozempic.

On Tuesday, Oprah showcased her impressive progress in her weight-loss journey while out in Santa Barbara, California, with her friend Maria Shriver, 68. The legendary talk show host, now 70, displayed a sporty figure in athletic clothing as they arrived at a gym for a joint workout.

Despite initially denying the use of weight-loss drugs, Oprah later defended her decision to use them and criticized those who 'shame' others for doing so.

After their workout, the two television personalities visited a commercial construction project. It was unclear what their connection to the project was, but Oprah and Maria were seen spending about 15 minutes inside the under-construction building and chatting with some contractors.

Following their visit, Maria drove Oprah in her green Range Rover to a local coffee shop, where they picked up some beverages. They then concluded their day with a drive back to Oprah's Montecito mansion, located a little over 90 miles northwest of Downtown Los Angeles.

Oprah looked stylish in a loose-fitting gray-green long-sleeve shirt paired with light-green cropped leggings featuring a raised pattern. She completed the look with a pair of burgundy Adidas Ultraboost trainers from Beyoncé's Ivy Park collection. Her long dark hair was parted down the middle, cascading in thick waves over her shoulders.

Maria was dressed in a casual outfit, featuring a white graphic T-shirt and sleek black leggings. She wore black, white, and gray New Balance trainers and carried a powder blue bag, a royal blue jacket, and a large water bottle.

Oprah recently made a public appearance earlier this month, joining her longtime friend Gayle King at the Sun Valley Summit in Idaho. This conference, often referred to as "summer camp for billionaires," maintains a high level of privacy, keeping each year's topic and agenda under wraps to provide a secure environment for its CEO and tech guru attendees.

Since openly discussing her use of Ozempic, Oprah has shared some of the more challenging moments of her decades-long weight-loss journey. Earlier this month, she recounted on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast her first appearance on The Tonight Show.

'I've been shamed on The Tonight Show by Joan Rivers. I had my first appearance on The Tonight Show,' she shared.

She recalled that Rivers — who died in 2014 after a botched elective procedure — had turned to her from behind the host's desk to ask, '"Tell me, why are you so fat?" ... on national television.'

'And I don't know what to do with that,' Oprah continued. 'I just am like, "Well, I just love potato chips, Joan." She [goes], "No seriously! Shame on you! Shame on you!"'
