President William Ruto has assured residents of Kilifi that former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa will still play a role in his administration, despite not being included in the list of 20 nominations for the new Cabinet. Speaking at the launch of the Baricho-Kakuyuni water supply project in Kilifi, President Ruto emphasized that Jumwa would not be left out of his government. He called on the public to work together to boost the country's economy.

"I am not leaving Aisha Jumwa behind; we will find a way to include her. People of Malindi, let me ask you, who made Aisha a CS? Then I know how to take care of her. Let us all unite to improve our country," President Ruto said.

During her address, Jumwa praised the President for appointing two Cabinet Secretaries from the coastal region, Salim Mvurya (Trade) and Ali Hassan Joho (Mining). She also addressed her critics, noting that she had received calls from people suggesting she had been excluded from the Kenya Kwanza administration.

"I want to thank him for the opportunity he gave me and the new opportunity he will give me. I also appreciate his decision to nominate Mvurya and Joho to the Cabinet," Jumwa said.

"So I will be part of the government. Those who have been calling me saying I've been left out by the President, I'm not available. I helped build this government, and I'm in it, and I will stay in it because I'm with William Ruto, so reduce the calls."

Jumwa previously led the Gender Ministry until the cabinet was dissolved on July 11, 2024, by President Ruto following anti-government protests demanding his resignation.
