The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party's National Executive Committee has decided to revoke Cleophas Malala's appointment as Secretary General and replace him with Hassan Omar.

In an official statement, the Committee highlighted the meeting's purpose: to address recent events within the party and the broader political landscape.

They emphasized their commitment to advancing the party's agenda through inclusive, participative, and consultative measures.

The Committee also instructed the National Elections Board to make necessary adjustments and proceed with the first phase of grassroots elections across the remaining counties.

This development comes amid internal confusion, with UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire calling for a National Executive Council meeting at Hustler Plaza. In response, Malala sought interim court orders to postpone the meeting until the following week.
