The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has suggested a national colour-coding scheme for garbage disposal.

This is to guarantee that garbage is properly disposed of and recycled. It will also require that public and private organizations separate non-hazardous garbage into organic and non-organic categories.

The proposed colors are Green for organic waste, Blue for recyclable garbage, and Black for general garbage.

The public has been requested to provide feedback on the updated plan by August 16, 2024.
