According to multiple sources, Wanjigi has been accused on several occasions of funding protests across the country. Bloggers allied with President William Ruto have claimed that he has been supporting these youth-led demonstrations.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politician Hon. Robert Alai, who addressed the situation on his social media platforms, has urged the prominent businessman to publicly join the protests.

In other news, former Prime Minister and Azimio la Umoja Coalition presidential candidate, Hon. Raila Odinga, clarified that ODM has not joined the Kenya Kwanza government, despite some ODM politicians being nominated to positions within President William Ruto's administration.
Raila has also reassured that ODM has not betrayed the Generation-Z protesters who are advocating for change in the country.
