A 35-year-old man died after allegedly jumping from a moving vehicle near Selly’s junction along Siaya-Luanda road on Friday night at 8:30 pm.
Confirming the incident, Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the passenger, Paul Omondi Ojiro, died while undergoing treatment at Siaya County referral hospital, where he was rushed in a critical condition.
He said the vehicle was heading towards Siaya town and on reaching the said junction, a motorcyclist suddenly joined the main road and hit it on the left headlamp.
Additionally, he revealed that the motorcyclist then escaped, and in the process, Ojiro opened the vehicle’s passenger door and jumped out while it was still in motion.
The passenger fell on the tarmac, sustained head injuries, and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
