In a recent case at the Milimani Law Courts, Violet Ndukwe Lijodi and Francis Mwima were charged with stealing a gold ring worth Ksh. 683,000

The theft allegedly occurred at Runda Acacia Grove, where Violet, employed as a househelp, stole the ring and sold it to Francis for Ksh. 4,000.

During the court proceedings, Violet pleaded guilty to the theft, asking the court for forgiveness because of her children. Her plea to the court was emotional, as she stated, "I was unaware. I beg the court to forgive me because of my children."

Conversely, Francis denied the charges. His defense counsel argued for his release on bail, emphasizing that he is not a flight risk. He highlighted that Francis was arrested at his workplace and has two brothers residing in Nairobi, and therefore, he deserves a chance to clear his name.

"We pray for lenient bail terms and the court is at liberty to grant any further orders," his lawyer added.
