Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome received a warm welcome at Ardhi House as she resumed her role in President William Ruto's administration. Wahome had previously served as the Lands CS for nine months before President Ruto dismissed his entire cabinet, except for Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, amid widespread anti-government protests. However, a week later, President Ruto reappointed Wahome to her previous position in the newly restructured Cabinet.
Upon her return, Wahome was greeted by Lands Principal Secretary Nixon Korir, who had temporarily taken over her duties, along with other ministry officials. During her meetings, she was briefed on the current state of affairs within her ministry.
"Honored to resume my duties as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development," Wahome stated. "My commitment to serving the people of Kenya and being a faithful advisor to the President, with honor and dignity, for the betterment of our nation remains unwavering."
Wahome is set to tackle various challenges within her docket, including dealing with cartels, advancing the Housing Levy program, and completing the digitization of land records. During her appearance before the Committee on Appointments, she noted that her ministry would need Ksh.40 billion to fully digitize all land records.

Additionally, Wahome pledged to extend the Housing Levy program to rural areas once the matter is resolved in court. "I'm a team player, a hard worker, and I have the right attitude to fulfill my duties as a minister," she emphasized.
