Governor Bii confirmed Barorot’s resignation in a Monday press conference, revealing that Barorot will assume a new role as Chief Executive Officer at an international ICT firm starting September 1, 2024.

Barorot explained that his decision to resign was driven by his desire to explore new opportunities rather than conflicts with the governor.

Barorot, who has spent the last 30 years in the ICT sector, expressed excitement about this career shift, highlighting the transformative potential of his new position. He emphasized that his departure was amicable and that he has enjoyed a positive working relationship with Governor Bii and other county staff.

Governor Bii praised Barorot for his contributions to the county and extended his best wishes for Barorot’s future endeavors. He described the new role as a valuable opportunity for Uasin Gishu.

Barorot’s resignation comes just a week after he addressed rumors about his departure. Speculation about his exit was fueled by his absence from President William Ruto’s recent event, where Eldoret was officially designated as a city.
