President William Ruto has appointed Dennis Itumbi as the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the President's Executive Office.

In a statement on Friday, head of Public Service and Chief of Staff Felix Koskei said the new appointments will help support the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-up economic Agenda (BETA).

“This ministerial level appointment will among other roles, be responsible for effective and efficient implementation, monitoring and evaluation of priority projects and initiatives of the 5th administration in line with the BETA Plan,” stated Koskei.

"Further, the office is charged with overseeing performance of Government Ministries, Departments & Agencies in service delivery.”

The Head of State appointed former Information Communication Technology (ICT) Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management.

President William Ruto has appointed former Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria as a Senior Advisor in his Council of Economic Advisors.

“This appointment will go into fostering this administration’s zeal of innovation and growth towards a robust yet novel sector in the economic sphere,” Koskei added.

After weeks of anti-government protests, Owalo and Kuria lost their Cabinet seats when President Ruto fired all his ministers in a landmark decision on July 11, 2024.

Itumbi, on the other hand, was sworn in as the ICT Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in March last year but lost the seat only a few months later when the High Court ruled the position unconstitutional.
