Moi Airbase successfully defended their title at the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Taekwondo Championship, concluding a four-day event held at Moi Air Base in Nairobi on Thursday. The championship featured 16 teams from various formations, bases, and units within the KDF, with the objectives of selecting players for the Ulinzi Taekwondo team, fostering cohesion, and promoting camaraderie among service members.
Senior Private Swabri Anwar from the 27 Mechanised Infantry Battalion (MIB), who earned a silver medal in the Fin category, shared his positive outlook on the future. “The tournament has been beneficial to us; we prepared and practiced well. It has also emphasized the need for discipline. I hope to use my talent and represent our country in other big international events,” Anwar remarked.
Private Faith Angor, a first-time participant from the 86 Armoured Recce Battalion (ARB), took the top spot in the Fin category and expressed her excitement over the achievement. “This is my first time participating in such a tournament. I’m really excited about my performance. The tournament has been good, and I'm grateful for the experience,” she said.

In addition to Moi Airbase's victory, the Construction Engineers Brigade finished as the first runners-up, while the Armoured Brigade claimed the second runners-up position.
