Renowned Kuna Nuru Gizani preacher Bishop Pius Muiru of Maximum Miracle Centre church held a special service last Friday at his church in Odeon, where he gave his followers what he called "anointed nails."


Muiru claimed that the 3-inch nails, which had been dipped in anointing oil and prayed over, held special powers. He instructed his followers to take seven nails each and use them to "nail" their business premises and homes, promising that they would experience miracles afterward.

As one of the founders of the prosperity gospel movement in Kenya, Muiru's actions have stirred controversy. A video of the service has gone viral, prompting widespread criticism on social media, with many accusing the preacher of misleading his followers.

“These are the same people who will tell you to buy anointing oil and stop taking meds for chronic illnesses. Some of these pastors send our patients to early graves,” Dr. Austin Omondo wrote.

Another user on X commented, "And brainwashed followers will do this and wait for a miracle. We have a long way to go.”
