Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have arrested two suspected drug traffickers in Nairobi’s Donholm area.

The suspects, identified as Teresia Nduku, a Kenyan national, and Simba Kitwana Khamri from Tanzania, were caught with a significant amount of high-grade cannabis believed to have been smuggled into the country.

Following their arrest, the suspects led authorities to their Tala residence in Kangundo Sub-County, where a concealed backpack containing cannabis sativa, a digital scale, and other incriminating materials were discovered during a search.

"Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have arrested two suspected drug traffickers in Nairobi’s Donholm area, according to a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on social platform X. The suspects, identified as Teresia Nduku, a Kenyan national, and Simba Kitwana Khamri from Tanzania, were caught with a significant amount of high-grade cannabis believed to have been smuggled into the country." Following their arrest, the suspects led authorities to their Tala residence in Kangundo Sub-County, where a concealed backpack containing cannabis sativa, a digital scale, and other incriminating materials were discovered during a search.

The DCI reported that the cannabis strain, which is believed to have entered Kenya through the Namanga border, is precious, fetching an estimated Ksh. 8,000 per gram. Simba Khamri, described as an expert in drug concealment and packaging, is suspected of preparing the drugs for international distribution.

Authorities are conducting further analysis to understand the unique strain of cannabis better while both suspects remain in custody pending formal charges. The DCI reported that the cannabis strain, which is believed to have entered Kenya through the Namanga border, is precious, fetching an estimated Ksh. 8,000 per gram.

Simba Khamri, described as an expert in drug concealment and packaging, is suspected of preparing the drugs for international distribution.
