Detectives are investigating a shooting incident in Majogi village, Meru County, where gunmen attacked a couple at their home. Police reports indicate that Stephen Makanju suffered three gunshot wounds to the stomach, while his wife was shot in the abdomen. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
The attackers also attempted to set fire to the couple’s four-bedroom house but failed. Additionally, they fired at the main door and killed one of the couple's cows.
Police recovered two 5.56mm spent cartridges at the scene, which will be sent for ballistic analysis. The victims were transported to Kiwa Mission Hospital for treatment. No suspects have been arrested or identified yet, and the investigation is ongoing.
