A Nairobi-based Forex trader is facing significant losses after being robbed of $100,000 (equivalent to Ksh 12.9 million) by unidentified individuals.
The incident occurred around 12:53 PM when the businessman Hirsi Ali Shire was on his way to exchange the money for Kenyan shillings.
Shire had boarded a motorbike from his business location on Kaunda Street in Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD) and headed to Westlands. Upon arriving at the Paramount Building in Westlands, he exchanged foreign currency.

However, while returning to the CBD on the same motorbike, events took a dangerous turn near the Utalii Building along Uhuru Highway.
A white saloon car intercepted them, and two armed men exited the vehicle, threatening Shire and the motorbike rider at gunpoint. One of the assailants seized the bag containing the cash and fled the scene.
Despite an attempt to chase the getaway vehicle, the effort proved unsuccessful. Shire later reported the robbery to Central Police Station, although he could not provide the car's registration number. Police have since launched an investigation into the matter, aiming to recover the stolen cash and apprehend the suspects.
